Antony Huchette's practice spans drawing, painting, graphic arts, and animation. Rooted in the DIY culture of the 1990s, his work draws on folk and popular art, borrowing visual motifs that he assembles and reconfigures through collage. His narratives, tinged with absurdity and melancholy, emerge from observing and documenting the forms of everyday life. The malleability of the ordinary becomes poetic material. A pair of slippers, a handful of nails, a hand squeezing a lemon—these simple subjects express the human experience with an essential simplicity.
Antony Huchette's drawings are regularly published in French and international publications, including The New Yorker and Le Monde. He collaborated with Hermès and his work has also been featured in solo and group exhibitions (Hyperbien Galerie, Montreuil Galerie Joseph, Paris ).
